| On August 4, 2000, The Valley Group, Inc. shipped an order of 5
CAT-1 Transmission Line Monitoring Systems for real time rating use to
Alliant Energy. This shipment included our 200th system - a milestone
we are very proud of!
The first CAT-1 systems were shipped in 1991 and the first system was installed on a 500 kV line of Virginia Power in 1991. Since then, CAT-1 has been refined many times, for instance with the inclusion of a Net Radiation Sensor in 1994, and with most systems being shipped as real time rating systems now.

| Our history, as of our 12th anniversary. | ||||
| Over the years, in addition to our CAT-1 systems for real time thermal
line rating, we have also provided remote systems for insulator monitoring,
ice monitoring, and galloping monitoring.
Now, CAT-1 systems can be found on 5 continents, at over 95 utilities. We are the undisputed world leader, because we understand all the facets of the thermal line rating equation and because of our years of experience with tens and hundreds of real time thermal line rating systems.
